Description
In Native American lore, the Great Blue Heron is one who can wait forever to reach their goal, determined and clever in attainment. Blue Heron speaks to the importance of patience and watchfulness... For me, that makes him a particularly fitting subject for using the sumi-e technique! A meditative process used to capture the essence of a subject with simplicity and spontaneity using traditional sumi brushes and black ink, although here I have added the use of acrylics with the ink for better adherence to stretched canvas...
