Once, on one of my frequent visits to the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens, I came upon a regal Great Blue Heron that had stopped to check out the other inhabitants of a well stocked pond fed by a wandering creek. I was able to sneak up close enough to snap a pic and later put the memory to canvas.
