Description
'Looking to Land' began as a value study using black and white gesso to create a stark contrast capturing the essence of the scene. I knew by layering transparent glazes of color I could create additional drama for the hazy mist enveloping the scene -but what color to choose? I thought blue would've worked well, but I originally chose green as you can see on 'Enchanted River' also found under my Dreamy Landscape Collection. Here I finally tried the blues! It depends entirely on my mood which I like better!

Love your vision, Zan. In Laurelland, the “blues have it” for the value study, the greens have it for a light infused monochromatic study! As always…your fractured light…always claims center stage Drama and Beauty….Fav

Beautiful work Zan! Very moody! You know I love this! I love the atmosphere you’ve captured in this. It’s as if I’m floating in the water. I think blue was the right choice!
