Artist's Description
Life's journey often carries us down many paths and I have had my share of disheartening moments spent in silent solitude in contemplation of some of the more difficult ones. In this lithograph done many years ago, I created this caricature of one of those moments in time. Will she take the dilemma that has presented itself as a challenge to be conquered and step by step regain her sense of self or will despair anchor her to the spot? Being more in tune with an impressionistic approach than worrying over minute detail, I often find myself distilling the essential nature of the subject to a simpler arrangement of light, form and color. Sometimes there is a story to be told, whether in my composition or from the viewer imposing their own experiences....
