Description

'On the Fence' was inspired by a fabulous photograph taken at the Donnelly Wildlife Management refuge in the low lands of South Carolina as Summer shifts to Fall. What a delightful scene to paint of a Great Blue Heron and white egret standing sentry over the area! This makes a lovely companion piece to another painting from the same area titled 'Heron Pair'.

Zan, in the twilight of your contest tribute, I am lingering...image by image...resting to explore new-to-me paintings ...finding new treasures of delight and FEELing the gratitude for such glimpses of beauty that bring a smile, a memory, a sensation or ...a story! One of my favorite birds is the Great Blue Heron. I have seen them in many states, in many different poses...I have always seen them solitary in flight, while fishing, in my neighbors pond catching a quick meal..:-) You painted a beautiful moment...of a couple...fractures of grass and reed are their “home”..MAGNIFICENT!...LF
