Those that know me, know this to be true - I love tending the flowers in my garden and painting them too!
Enter 'Rain Kissed Tulip' inspired by a fabulous photo by Shawn Parker who graciously allowed me to paint it some years ago. You see, I've always been enamoured by their simple elegance, but tulips are a finicky bulb to grow here in North Central Texas! This rich red specimen gently opened by raindrops with an uncanny resemblance to a rose made it an extra special delight to paint! I've even added a hazy allusion to more of this beauty in the background!

Thank you Linda! Actually, with a little study of how the light moves through drops of water its really not difficult :-) The first time I did waterdrops I spattered water on the bathroom mirror to assist LOL
