I rejoice every year upon seeing the summer wildflowers in the pastures and highway embankments near my home here in Texas. The glorious tangles of Gaillardia and Black Eyed Susans swaying amongst the grasses even during the sultry dog days of summer and autumn never ceases to make my heart sing!
